VOICES OF SPRING
This was a limited run of 5 large-format prints created in collaboration with Prof. Taryn McMahon and our 3 children. The base image is a cyanotype made using found erosion netting from the Cuyahoga River and this is overlaid with statements from our children (‘the voices of spring’) on a river walk, interwoven with those of Naomi Klein, Rachel Carson, and Victor Hugo in a 3-color screenprint.
Layers of text become a pliable plane over top of the movement of netting captured by light.
Punctuation marks out space and maps related statements to each other across the composition.
Aubergine, translucent pale peach and pistachio green interact with the tones of the cyanotype.
